Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Balochistan Development Authority (BDA) Mir Sikandar Khan Umrani On Monday said that Balochistan government was taking practical measures to address the problems of needy people in an efficient manner in the ongoing war against the COVID-19 across the province.
He expressed these views while talking to Commissioner Nasirabad Disvision Abid Saleem Qureshi during meeting at his office. Former provincial Minister Mir Faiq Khan Jamali, Deputy Commissioner Nasirabad Hafiz Muhammad Qasim Kakar, tribal leader Mir Khair Bakhsh Khan Khosa, project director Food Janan Jaffar and other officers were present on the occasion.
Mir Sikandar Khan Umrani said all resources were being utilized on the special directive of Chief Minister Balochistan for needy people so that the stoves of the houses of the laborers could not get cold in lockdown situation, saying in this regard transparency of ration distribution was being continued in respective areas of Balochistan for decreasing difficulties of them.
In difficult times, we will not leave the people alone, he said adding all measures have been taken to ensure resolving their problems. Umrani said that locusts in Chithar Tehsil of Nasirabad have damaged crops on a large scale and measures would be taken to save ready corps from the attack of locusts in the area. On the occasion, Commissioner Naseerabad Division Abid Saleem Qureshi briefed him about the steps at district level against locusts, saying that at the divisional level, all the Deputy Commissioners in their districts were taking steps for the affected people.
The Commissioner said the distribution of rations among needy people was underway in lockdown situation adding that we were trying to ensure provision of rations to deserving families in a transparent manner under Balochistan Government aid so that their problems could be reduced in wake of the coronavirus. Hence, measures were being taken to implement precautionary measures against the COVID-19 to quell the spread of the deadly virus in order to ensure the protection of people’s lives from the pandemic virus, he said.—APP
