Deputy Mayor Karachi Syed Arshad Hasan, paying tribute to services of Baba-i-Urdu Moulvi Abdul Haq for promoting Urdu, said on Friday that the establishment of Urdu University was in fact due to his efforts.He expressed these views while speaking in a ceremony held at the mausoleum of Baba-i-Urdu Moulvi Abdul Haq on his 58th death anniversary, said a statement on Friday.
He said that Urdu language united the people, living in Pakistan and the KMC will soon name after a major city artery to Sharea Urdu for which the resolution would be approved by the city council. Earlier the deputy mayor laid floral sheet at his grave on behalf of citizens of Karachi.—APP
