Directorate of Parliament Lodges and Hostels of the Capital Development Authority has launched disinfection and cleanliness drive of of the Parliament Lodges in wake of prevailing situation of Covid-19.
In this connection, door to door disinfection of the lodges is being carried out on daily basis.
According to an official of the CDA, the step was being taken on the instructions of the Chairman of the CDA Amer Ahmed Ali and in this regard door to door manual disinfection is being carried out by especially trained staff equipped with proper protection kits.
Furthermore, sanitizing dispensers have been also installed at the entrances of the all blocks of Parliament Lodges. In addition to disinfection, staff has been deputed at the main gate of the lodges for checking temperature of the guests / visitors with infrared guns.
Similarly, the jamia mosque of the lodges is also being disinfected five times a day while special arrangements have been made for washing and spraying on the roads and footpaths within the premises of the Parliament Lodges. Moreover, cleanliness and sweeping of the hostels is also being carried out multiple times in a day.
In line with the instructions of the Authority, masks have been also distributed among officials from BPS-01 to 15 particularly among the staff carrying out disinfection and cleanliness activities in the Lodges.
Meanwhile, the district administration has decided to close down shops of all types in the Federal capital after 5:00 pm.
According to details, the number of coronavirus patients is increasing day by day across the country, leading the administrations to take drastic efforts to curb the spread of the virus.
In line with the measures taken by the provinces where directions have been given for closure of shops after 5 p.m. the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) has also decided to close all shops including food outlets after 5 pm and instructions have been issued to the police by the Islamabad administration.
On Friday, federal government had extended the countrywide lockdown for the next two weeks citing fears of spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Despite the strict measures of lockdown in the city, Panagah or shelter houses are operational and providing sehr and iftaar to its residents and those who arrive for food.
On the sehr of first Ramazan, Saturday, too sehr-o-Iftar was served at the shelter houses in I-11, G-9 and other localities of the federal capital.
