Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar said that unfortunately, corona pandemic is heightening with each passing day but people are not ready to take this virus serious that will be more dangerous in days to come.
He was talking to the media after having meetings with different people. Waleed Dogar from business community and ICI Paints Company handed over 1400 and 1000 PPEs (Personal Protection Equipment) respectively to Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar for doctors and paramedical staff. Islamia University Bahawalpur Vice Chancellor handed over Rs 7 million, Punjab University (PU) Rs 3 million and University of Education (UoE) Rs 2 million cheques to the governor for Prime Minister Corona Relief Fund.
Sarwar gave away 1000 kilogram rice and other ration to PTI MNA Shanila Roth for distribution among the poor families of minority communities. On this occasion, Sarwar Foundation Vice Chairperson Begum Perveen Sarwar was also present.
He said the government will fulfill its responsibilities however corona pandemic cannot be controlled until people are not follow the precautionary and safety measures. For God sake, the masses should protect themselves and others from coronaviurs. Provision of relief to people affected by corona pandemic is our top most priority for which work is underway for 24 hours.
The governor said under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the federal government has given the biggest relief package of history and the poor families are being extended assistance transparently and without any political discrimination through Ehsaas Programme.
Insha Allah, no poor family is left without having this assistance. Under Punjab development network, we were providing ration to 300,000 families and now we have increased this figure up to 500,000. Those lost their jobs/wages in the corona crisis will not be left alone any cost and we standing with them, while welfare organization are also playing their active role in this hour of need.
He said the war against corona is not the war of an individual or party but of 220 million Pakistanis. He said ordinance against hoarders has been promulgated to rid the people of price-hike and the hoards and those taking benefit from masses’ difficulties deserve no leniency and strict action will be taken against them in accordance with the law.
