RAWALPINID – DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said armed forces are always ready to make any sacrifice for the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan.
Addressing press conference, the military spokesperson stated that compared to the past five years, the highest number of terrorists were killed this year. The Pakistan Armed Forces successfully thwarted several terrorist plots and recovered a large quantity of weapons from the terrorists during operations, he said.
In 2024, 925 terrorists, including several militant commanders, were eliminated, and 73 most-wanted terrorists were killed during operations, he added.
He said that two suicide bombers were apprehended while 14 wanted terrorists surrendered during this year.
He highlighted that 383 officers and soldiers laid down their lives in the line of duty.
The DG ISPR further stated that Pakistan has made efforts for peace in Afghanistan, but despite all these efforts, terrorists from Afghan soil continue to carry out attacks in our country.
He emphasized that the roots of terrorism stretch to Afghanistan, and Pakistan will leave no stone unturned in eliminating these terrorist networks.
He also stated that the Pakistan Army is fully capable of giving a befitting response to any aggression from India. India has been committing atrocities in occupied Kashmir, and the world is witnessing its cruelty in the region. India is flagrantly violating international laws in occupied Kashmir, and Pakistan stands with the oppressed people of the region, he added.
He said India is also involved in the killing of Sikhs in other countries and is engaged in a planned genocide of minorities.
“Pakistan’s principled stance is to continue providing legal, diplomatic, and moral support to the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir.”
