Sindh Police has officially launched departmental training courses at the Police Training School (PTS) Larkana, marking the commencement of Intermediate and Upper School training programs. This initiative is in response to the absence of a police training college in northern Sindh, with the aim of facilitating local police officers.
In a move to improve accessibility for officers, IG Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, directed the establishment of training opportunities in Larkana, considering the convenience of police personnel in the region. The DIG Training has formally communicated this decision to the Principal of PTS Larkana through a letter.
Previously, officers from Larkana and Sukkur had to travel to the Police Training Centre in Shaheed Benazirabad (Shahdadpur) for departmental training. With this new initiative, officers from both Sukkur and Larkana can now receive training at PTS Larkana. The first courses, set to begin in February 2025, will include Intermediate and Upper School programs aimed at enhancing the skills and capabilities of Sindh’s police force. This move is expected to significantly benefit local officers and improve policing in northern Sindh.
