ISLAMABAD – A relief for poverty-stick people as the Benazir Kafaalat 2025 program officially launched its first phase, offering financial assistance of Rs13,500 to eligible families across several districts.
The cash transfer poverty reduction program in South Asian nation aims to cut down poverty and empower women, particularly in underdeveloped regions.
BISP initial rollout covers districts in Islamabad, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). All districts in Islamabad, along with every district in Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan, are included in this phase.
Residents of northwestern Pakistan, urban centers like provincial capital Peshawar and Mardan, as well as remote areas such as Upper and Lower Dir, will benefit from the program.
Punjab’s eligible districts include Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Rawalpindi, while Sindh’s districts, including parts of Karachi and Hyderabad, are also part of the assistance program. Areas not included in the first phase will be addressed in the subsequent rollouts.
To access financial support, individuals must register at their nearest Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) office, providing documentation like CNIC and proof of residence. The registration process also involves biometric verification.
Those eligible to get payments can check their payment status via message, BISP official portal. Benazir Kafaalat program was rolled out to directly support female heads of households, promoting financial independence and enabling them to meet basic needs such as food, education, and healthcare.
