RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir urged citizens to work towards a prosperous Pakistan in address during Christmas gatherings.
In a statement, Army Chief visited Saint Joseph’s Catholic Cathedral Church in garrison city of Rawalpindi, highlighting the spirit of inclusivity and national unity. The event saw congregation warmly welcoming Gen Asim, expressing appreciation for his presence and solidarity during the festive occasion.
Addressing the Christian community, COAS extended heartfelt Christmas greetings to Christians across Pakistan, stressing that the holiday serves as reminder of universal values of compassion, generosity, and goodwill—values that bind the country’s diverse society together.
COAS also paid tribute to contributions of Christian and minority communities to country’s progress, acknowledging their significant role in the nation’s cultural, social, economic, and national development.
He also paid tribute to founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, praising Quaid’s visionary leadership and his commitment to the principles of Faith, Unity, and Discipline, which played a crucial role in the creation of Pakistan and continue to serve as a blueprint for nation-building.
COAS said these basic principles are need of the hour to address both external and internal challenges, from safeguarding national security to ensuring domestic stability.
Concluding his speech, he urged all Pakistanis to unite in their collective resolve to build a peaceful and prosperous nation, as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
