LAHORE – A female student of Nishtar Medical University has been allegedly raped after abduction from varsity in Multan.
The incident sent shockwaves as an employee of one of the oldest medical institutions was reportedly involved in the incident. The assault involved two individuals, one of whom is believed to be an employee of the varsity.
Initial investigations by police suggest that student was taken to an undisclosed location by the suspects, where she was subject to sexual assault. The key suspect is reportedly a staff member of NMU, while the second individual is suspect’s acquaintance.
Amid the outrage, both suspects have been nabbed in police raid. A senior physician from NMU stated that the victim witnessed severe trauma and that there was significant pressure from senior medical staff on the university administration after the incident.
The incident sparked concerns about safety on educational campuses, prompting calls for greater protective measures for female students.
