LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) continued operations against violation of building bylaws and illegal commercial use in the Punjab capital.
On Monday, LDA Town Planning Wing 112 illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulter premises during operations in different parts of Lahore.
As many as 18 illegal commercial buildings in Gulberg, 49 in Subzazar Housing Scheme, and 40 in Gulshan-e-Ravi, Shadman and Canal Bank Road’s surroundings for illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees. LDA teams also sealed five shops in Izmir Town for not getting completion certificates.
The sealed premises include Timmy’s, Concordia College Campus, Step Schools, Imperial Lyceum School, private clinic, grocery stores, food outlets, saloons, offices and other businesses.
The LDA teams also demolished estate office in LDA Avenue-I Housing Scheme and illegal shops in Jubilee Town for violation of building bylaws. Several illegal shops were also demolished in LDa Avenue-I Housing Scheme and on Raiwind Road.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali supervised the operations, which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police and heavy machinery.
As per the LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violation of building bylaws, illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulters in Lahore.
Khan-e-Azam Banquet Hall, Punjab Academy among 45 sealed in Lahore
