DUBAI – Pakistani TV show host and author Aftab Iqbal has returned home, hours after his family expressed concerns about his arrest at Dubai airport.
Aftab was reportedly detained by immigration authorities at Dubai Airport while returning from the UK, according his daughter, Ayesha Noor said on Monday. She revealed that her father was traveling with her mother when immigration officials took him into custody. ”

Earlier in the day, Aftab Iqbal’s brother – who also worked in media – expressed deep concern over the ongoing detention of the popular TV host’s eldest brother. The post details a troubling incident that occurred on December 22, 2024, as Aftab Iqbal’s brother was traveling back to the UAE from Manchester, UK.
In his post, Junaid said Aftab was stopped upon arrival and has not been heard from since.
The family is seeking urgent assistance and has called on community leaders and authorities to help resolve the situation, emphasizing his role as a protector of community.
