LAHORE – The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) is the competent authority to issue a license to citizens for operating businesses related to food across the province.
The authority regulates and monitors the food business in order to ensure compliance by farmers, manufacturers, restaurant owners and other stakeholders.
It formulates standards, procedures, processes, and guidelines in relation to any aspect of food, including food business, food labeling, and food additives, and specify appropriate enforcement systems.
It is mandatory for the person who is going to open its restaurant anywhere in Punjab to obtain the license from the Punjab Food Authority by paying a certain fee.
The PFA issues the license for the food outlet after reviewing every aspect related to quality of food, standards and process.
