The Faculty of Eastern Medicine at Hamdard University organized a one-day free medical camp at Uth Palan Gabol Goth, providing essential healthcare services to the local underprivileged community. The camp was supervised by Hakim Amjad Ismail, with support from Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, which deployed its mobile dispensary to distribute free medicines to patients.
Residents also received ‘Rooh Afza GO’ drinks from Hamdard Laboratories, adding a refreshing touch to the day. The medical team, led by Dr. Professor Syed Faisal Haider Zaidi, Dean of the Faculty of Eastern Medicine, included dedicated researchers, physicians, and students. Other key participants were Assistant Professors Hakim Rais Khan and Hakim Amjad Chishti, Lecturer Tabiba Huma Saeed, and Nutritionist Lecturer Hajra Ilyas.
In addition to healthcare services, the team distributed ration bags containing essential items sufficient to sustain a family of four to five for a month. This initiative was conducted with a focus on maintaining the dignity of the recipients. Recognizing the onset of winter, the team provided warm jackets, mufflers, and closed shoes to both children and adults, helping them combat the chilly weather.
Hundreds of ready-to-eat food packets were also distributed among the residents. The camp featured free dry cupping therapy, available from morning until evening. A nutritionist from Hamdard University’s Department of Nutrition conducted educational sessions for women, highlighting the importance of balanced diets and proper nutrition. This initiative aimed to empower women, who play a pivotal role in meal preparation, to enhance their families’ overall health.
