PTI for dialogue to achieve political stability

A special accountability court in Islamabad has completed the trial in the £190 million reference case, involving the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, and has reserved its verdict.

The hearing, held at Adiala Jail on Wednesday, was presided over by Judge Nasir Javed Rana. After the defence counsel finished presenting their arguments, the judge decided to reserve the judgment.

The final session of the trial lasted for approximately eight hours and 15 minutes. Both PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were present in court during the proceedings.

The court is scheduled to announce its decision on December 23. On Tuesday, the prosecutor for the National Accountability Bureau concluded the presentation of his arguments in the case.

The final arguments in the £190 million reference case against Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, and his wife Bushra Bibi were presented in an accountability court, with both sides accusing each other of political motives and misrepresentation.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has emphasized the need for dialogue to ensure political stability and national development.

In a statement issued after the party’s parliamentary meeting, PTI reiterated its commitment to resolving issues through negotiations.

The statement highlighted that PTI Chairman Imran Khan has formed a negotiation committee with a positive mindset, aiming to steer the country towards progress and stability.

The parliamentary meeting strongly condemned raids on the residences and offices of PTI members of the National and Provincial Assemblies in Punjab. It called for an immediate cessation of such actions and warned of robust protests in the assembly if the raids persist.

The party also demanded the immediate release of Imran Khan and all political detainees, along with the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the incidents of May 9 and November 26.
