NAVTTC center of excellence hosts orientation session

The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) Center of Excellence organized an orientation session in collaboration with City & Guilds to emphasize the significance of international accreditation for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in Pakistan.

The session commenced with the registration of participants, followed by the recitation of the Holy Quran and the national anthem. Attendees included representatives from public and private TVET institutions, policymakers, and international development partners.

In his keynote address, Mr. Amir Jan, Executive Director of NAVTTC, welcomed participants and reaffirmed NAVTTC’s dedication to enhancing the quality and global competitiveness of Pakistan’s skilled workforce through strategic international partnerships.

Dr. Amir Sadati, Executive Director of GEMS Middle East, underscored the vital role of international accreditation in improving global recognition of Pakistani TVET institutions. He highlighted how accreditation ensures workforce readiness and facilitates access to international employment opportunities.

Delivering his address, Dr. Tony Degazon, Regional Manager at City & Guilds, discussed the importance of aligning TVET institutions with internationally recognized standards. He emphasized that adopting global quality benchmarks will empower Pakistan’s skilled workforce to compete effectively in international labor markets and meet evolving global demands.

In her concluding remarks, Ms. Gulmina Bilal, Chairperson of NAVTTC, commended the efforts of NAVTTC and City & Guilds in advancing the agenda of international accreditation for Pakistan’s TVET sector. She highlighted that international accreditation is not just a recognition but a pathway to aligning Pakistani skilled workers with global job market requirements. “Through such initiatives, we are enabling our youth to access opportunities that were previously out of reach.
