Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has emphasized making collective efforts to remove misperceptions about Pakistan around the world.
He was addressing a seminar titled Leveraging “Pakistan’s Cultural Diversity to Foster Peace Within and without” in Islamabad on Monday.
The Minister said Pakistan is not only the home of all these historical sites including the Gandhara civilization, but we are also home to the one of the old Buddhist sites.
He said our country is nothing like, which the Western media is portraying specially. He said the minorities living in Pakistan also realize the issue of misperception of the country.
The Information Minister said that they need to put across the message of love, tolerance, peace and harmony to the world through our culture and need to open up to the world.
He said Pakistanis are peaceful, peace loving and friendly people and our hospitality is known across the world. He said Pakistan is peaceful and beautiful place and there is need to portray its diversity as we are misunderstood people around the world.
Attaullah Tarar said the government has taken a number of initiatives to promote the diversity of culture that exists in Pakistan from Gilgit Baltistan to Thar Desert and building a positive image of the country.
He said building a positive image, initiating a process of dialogue and negotiation and eradicating a misconception are the key to solve every issue. However, he stressed the need to bring positivity and the government is committed towards this cause.
