KARACHI – Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori inaugurated Karachi Tape-ball Premier League (KTPL) Season 4 at the DHA Sports Club Moin Khan Academy on Saturday night.
Speaking on the occasion, he expressed hope that the KTPL will help discover fresh talent and give opportunities to those not getting chances to play such high-level events.
Tessori, who is also patron-in-chief of this league, was pleased that legends like Javed Miandad, Haroon Rasheed and Sadiq Muhammad were behind the KTPL.
He said that the message of such events was that all should work together for the prosperity of Karachi and Pakistan.
Javed Miandad said tape-ball cricket was as good as hard-ball cricket. “It is getting popular as everyone could play this”, he said, adding that practice with tape ball can help players in hardball cricket.
“I suggest professional cricketers to make their strategy to achieve results on the field,” he said
Chairman KTPL Zohair Naseer announced that the league would be played at the national level in the next edition with the teams representing different cities.
Haroon Rasheed said that sports help foster unity and provide opportunities for young talent.
The inaugural match witnessed an intense showdown with a thrilling display of skill and excitement, igniting the fervour for what promises to be an exhilarating season.
This year’s KTPL Season boasts a diverse lineup of teams, including defending champions Clifton Popular, DHA Dabanggs, Johar Jawaans, Gulshan Gohar, Lyari Legends, Malir Malangs, North Nawabs, and Karachi Knights.
