KARACHI – The government is set to announce new petrol and diesel prices for the second half of December 2024, with all eyes on the upcoming announcement.
As per sources, petrol prices are set to climb marginally, while diesel prices will be cut by around Rs4 per liter from December 16. These price adjustments are amid fluctuations in the global oil market and imposition of Inland Freight Equalization Margin (IFEM).
Petrol Price in Pakistan
Petrol price is expected to be around Rs253 per liter, while diesel price will be around Rs. 254.50 per liter.
Global Oil Price Update
Oil prices saw fluctuation in recent weeks, with a premium for petrol coming down to $8.84 per barrel. These changes could impact consumption patterns and help the government meet its petroleum levy target, which reached Rs. 110 billion in November, a 19% increase from 2023
December Petrol Price
In previous price review, authorities jacked up petrol and diesel prices for the first fortnight of December 2024. Petrol price was increased by Rs 3.72, while High-Speed Diesel had seen a hike of Rs 3.29.
