LAHORE – Pakistan Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi left the field due to injury during the second T20I match against South Africa.
Pakistan was defeated by seven wickets while South Africa won the series in the match played in Centurion.
However, the third and final match would be played in Johannesburg on Saturday (today).
Yesterday, during South Africa’s batting, Shaheen Afridi was severely injured while bowling the 17th over. On the second delivery of his over, South African batter Rassie van der Dussen played a shot that hit Shaheen on the bone between his neck and shoulder, causing him visible pain. Despite this, he completed his over.
After finishing the over, Shaheen immediately left the field and went to the dressing room so that the physiotherapist could assess his injury.
The fast bowler gave away 37 runs in his 4 overs but did not take any wickets.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) did not any official statement regarding Shaheen Afridi’s injury.
However, the sources suggested that he might be rested in the third T20I match due to the injury.
