LAHORE – Pakistani star batter, Babar Azam, has made history in T20 cricket history by becoming the fastest player to complete 11,000 career runs.
The flamboyant hitter achieved a remarkable feat during his innings against South Africa, scoring his 11th run to reach the milestone.
With this achievement, the former skipper became the first player ever to surpass 11,000 T20 runs in under 300 innings, completing the mark in just 298 innings. Before this, legendary player Chris Gayle held the record, having reached 11,000 runs in 314 innings.
Babar also holds record for completing 7,000, 9,000, and 10,000 T20 runs in the limited innings, further solidifying his dominance in the format. He is now the second Pakistani player, and the 11th overall, to reach 11,000 T20 runs, joining the ranks of legends like Kieron Pollard, Alex Hales, and Virat Kohli.
Other notable players who have crossed the 11,000 T20 runs milestone include David Warner, Jos Buttler, Rohit Sharma, Aaron Finch, and James Vince.
Babar Azam completed 26,000 professional cricket runs during this innings, marking another significant career landmark.
