Abdul Rasheed Solangi, the Director General of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), conducted a series of inspections of under-construction projects in Karachi to ensure adherence to building regulations, with a focus on the mandatory installation of QR codes at construction sites.  The inspections, which covered key areas including Clifton, Main Shahrah-e-Faisal, and Jinnah Avenue, aimed to verify compliance with the SBCA directive and promote transparency in construction practices.

During his visits, Solangi emphasized the importance of prominently displaying QR codes on information boards for public-sale projects. These QR codes allow citizens to verify the legitimacy of construction projects before making investments, while also enabling SBCA to monitor compliance with building regulations.

He directed district directors to ensure that QR codes are installed across all ongoing projects and ordered the removal of construction debris and materials from sites. In addition, Solangi stressed the need for strict action against the misuse of car parking spaces, particularly in Districts South, East, and Central, where unauthorized structures and warehouses are being built in designated parking areas.

He also highlighted the importance of maintaining parking areas in already constructed buildings and ensuring that no illegal constructions occupy these spaces. Another key issue addressed was the absence of firefighting equipment in buildings. Solangi warned that inadequate fire safety provisions could lead to devastating consequences in the event of an emergency.
