Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon highlighted the Sindh government’s commitment to welcoming foreign investors and fostering development through public-private partnerships. Speaking at the Sindh Investment Conference in Karachi, he assured attendees of comprehensive support and facilities for investors, emphasizing the government’s proactive approach.

“The Government of Pakistan and the Government of Sindh have always embraced foreign investors,” he said. Minister Memon pointed out Chinese interest in Karachi’s medical city and transport sectors, noting that former President Asif Ali Zardari had extended full support to Chinese investors on behalf of the Sindh government. He also underscored Sindh’s potential for foreign investment, citing its vast Thar coal reserves capable of supplying inexpensive electricity for 200 years and the province’s role as a hub for green energy projects.

“Farmers will gain immense benefits from corporate farming as the latest technology will help them achieve maximum yield with limited water availability,” Memon added. He highlighted the importance of combining Chinese technology with local opportunities for further development and pledged full security for Chinese investors, expressing hope for continued growth in investment opportunities. Provincial Minister for Energy, Planning, and Development Syed Nasir Hussain Shah also addressed the conference, extending a warm welcome to Chinese investors and the Consul General of Turkiye.

He lauded the Sindh Investment Department for organizing the event and reaffirmed the provincial government’s dedication to facilitating international investors. “Sindh offers investment opportunities in the energy, industrial, agricultural, and transport sectors,” he said, reiterating that the Sindh government welcomes investors from across the globe with open arms and comprehensive support.

The conference began with Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Investment and Public-Private Partnership Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar welcoming the participants and explaining the event’s objectives. He emphasized the importance of fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors to drive economic growth and development in the region.
