Pak-Tajikistan agricultural ties will help ensure food, nutritional security: Chairman PARC

Scientific collaboration is vital for agricultural development: Tajik Deputy Minister

Asozoda Nurali Mahmadullo, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Tajikistan, visited the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC), Islamabad. During the visit, Chairman PARC, Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali highlighted the cutting-edge research being undertaken at PARC, including genome-based varietal development of various crops including rice, wheat, banana etc, virus-free seed potato production through Aeroponic technology, breed improvement and vaccine development for livestock, and speed breeding to accelerate the development of various crops.

Dr. Ali also highlighted other significant research initiatives aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring food and nutritional security. He further said that agricultural ties between Pakistan and Tajikistan will help ensure food and nutritional security for both the countries.

Tajikistan’s Deputy Minister commended PARC’s cutting-edge research and hoped for enhanced cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture to ensure food and nutritional security. He emphasized that we look forward to benefiting from Pakistan’s expertise in agricultural research and mutual technology transfer.
