ISLAMABAD – At least two militants were gunned down and a third one was apprehended by Pakistani security forces during an intelligence-based operation in Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Monday.

In a statement, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the IBO targeted insurgents who were believed to be hiding in the region. These militants had been involved in numerous attacks on security forces and the targeted killings of civilians, it said.

During the operation, security forces seized weapons and ammunition from the militants. A sanitization process is now underway to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining threats in the area.

Pakistan’s security forces reaffirmed their commitment to fighting terrorism and maintaining peace and security across the region.

The country’s top leadership including President, Interior Minister praised the action, and reiterated all out support to brave sons of soil.
