LAHORE – A 5.1 magnitudre earthquake hit Lahore, and other cities of Punjab on Thursday as people came out of their houses and offices out of fear.
Tremors were also felt in Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Kharia and nearby area. According to National Seismic Centre, the earthquake occurred in depth of 15 kilometers with its epicenter located near Kharian.
No damages have been reported in the earthquake so far.
In September this year, a 5.4 magnitude earthquake had jolted Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and other parts of Pakistan. The tremors had been felt in Multan, Bhakkar, Rawalpindi, Khanewal, Kamalia, Faisalabad, Mianwali and adjacent cities in the country.
The earthquake had occurred at 12:28 PM Pakistan Standard Time while its magnitude was recorded at 5.4 on Richter scale. The epicenter was the Near Dera Ghazi Khan (Shadi wala), Punjab in depth of 10 kilometers.
