LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 152 illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulter premises during operations in different parts of Lahore on Monday.
LDA Town Planning Wing sealed 33 premises in Gulberg, Faisal Town and Garden Town, 48 on Township’s College Road and Johar Town’s Khayaban-e-Firdousi, 40 in Gulshan-Ravi and on Canal Bank Road, and 31 in Allama Iqbal Town and Mustafa Town for illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include Bank Alfalah, United Bank limited, Supreme Pharmacy, Dublin School of Learning, bakers, restaurants, grocery stores, workshops, private clinic, offices and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali supervised the operations, which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.
As per the LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violation of parking and building bylaws, encroachments, illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulters in Lahore.
DHL, D Mart, Kids Mall, Green Pharmacy among 96 sealed in Lahore
