ISLAMABAD – Dr. Hafiz Ishaq of the Federal Urdu University of Science and Technology has been dismissed from his position for harassing a female professor.
The decision was made based on a complaint filed by Lecturer Urooj Malik. The Federal Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment also imposed a fine of Rs. 1 million on Dr. Hafiz Ishaq.
The spokesperson said that Lecturer Urooj Malik had lodged a formal complaint against the professor. The Federal Ombudsperson also requested a compliance report from the university by December 5.
Federal Ombudsperson Fauzia Waqar directed that Rs. 800,000 of the fine be paid to Urooj Malik while Rs200,000 should be deposited into the national treasury.
