DUBAI – The official paid holidays on account of the UAE’s 53rd National Day, which is also known as Eid Al Etihad, begin today, December 2 across the Gulf country.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced official paid holidays for December 2 and 3 (Monday and Tuesday) for all employees of the private sector employees.
The public holidays come after Saturday and Sunday, providing the UAE residents a change to enjoy a long weekend.
The National Day or Eid Al Etihad commemorates the historic moment when the seven emirates came together to form a unified nation under the leadership of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in 1971.
This year, the Nation Day is being celebrated under the theme of ‘Spirit of the Union’.
World leaders, including Pakistan prime minister has extended congratulations to leadership and people of the UAE on their National Day.
In a post on his X handle, PM Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the vision, wisdom and sagacity of the UAE leadership to achieve excellence through innovation and modernization. He said Pakistan is proud of the UAE’s remarkable journey of progress and prosperity.
The Pprime minister said Pakistan has always remained a steadfast brother and partner of the UAE. Together, he said they will continue to strive to further strengthen their historical and fraternal ties and transform them into a mutually beneficial economic partnership.
