ISLAMABAD – Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Saturday ruled out imposition of Governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Attaullah Tarar regretted that PTI used government resources for the protest.
He said 1200 people have been identified, who were involved in violent protest and government is committed not to spare any culprit.
Terming the PTI as a terrorist party, the information minister said the political workers do not attack their own law enforcement agencies.
He pointed out that Afghan miscreants also participated in the PTI’s protest.
The federal information minister’s reaction came just a day after KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur warned the federal government in this regard.
He said, “if you want to impose governor’s rule, go ahead, but then you won’t be able to stay in our province,”.
He said, “Fear the day when we decide to respond to bullets with bullets. If you continue with fascism, we will also come prepared to retaliate, and then you’ll see who flees,”.
The KP CM had said that their struggle was for supremacy of the Constitution, and he also demanded the immediate release of Imran Khan. “We want Imran Khan’s release, and we want it soon.
The CM urged the public to protest peacefully for their rights within the framework of the Constitution. However, he warned, “If you perceive peaceful protests as a sign of weakness, I will tell Imran Khan not to call for peaceful demonstrations in the future.
He also criticized the federal government for targeting a peaceful party and its supporters: “When a peaceful party comes out to demand their leader’s release, the participants are fired upon during peaceful protests.”
Gandapur emphasized, “We are not here for positions or power. If you want to impose Governor’s Rule, go ahead. Do you think our blood is of no value? We fight against terrorism, and you threaten us with the Governor’s House? I challenge you—impose Governor’s Rule.”
He further claimed, “I was fired upon at various intersections in Islamabad. Imran Khan instructed us to reach D-Chowk. We have faced direct assassination attempts multiple times, including shootings at China Chowk and D-Chowk. To secure the future of our generations, we must bring a revolution. Let the nation know that we prioritize honor and dignity over positions.”
