Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar on Thursday categorically claimed that no firing was carried out by security personnel on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf protestors D-Chok.

He stated this while talking to international media along with Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal. He said that the PIMS and Polyclinic hospitals have denied receiving any bodies or gunshot wound victims. The minister said the PTI miscreants were armed with latest weapons and they attempted to breach the red zone and wreak havoc.

Tarar said the security forces were there to protect the sanctity of the capital. He said there was no reason behind the protest, emphasizing the government has nothing to do with the cases of PTI’s founder.

He emphasized that despite the Islamabad High Court’s order prohibiting protests, the government had extended an opportunity to PTI to hold a peaceful demonstration in Sangjani.

However, the PTI rejected this offer, and as a result, action was taken against them. He accused the PTI of having ulterior motives, claiming that the party’s true intention was never to protest peacefully but to incite violence.

Tarar also highlighted the disruption caused by the PTI’s actions, noting that Islamabad had been under siege for several days, with a group of agitators attempting to destabilize the capital.

He pointed out that foreign guests had been in the Red Zone, and that troublemakers, armed with modern weapons, tear gas shells, stones, and catapults, had violated the Islamabad High Court’s ruling.
