RAWALPINDI – President Aleksandr Lukashenko of Belarus called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir during his three-day visit to Pakistan.

ISPR shared details of the key meeting as the two sides vowed to focus on strengthening bilateral ties, with a particular emphasis on defense cooperation and regional security issues.

COAS expressed Islamabad’s appreciation for Belarus’s contributions to global and regional peace, highlighting the importance of further enhancing ties between the two nations.

President Lukashenko, in turn, praised the role of the Pakistan Armed Forces in fostering stability in the region and commended their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. COAS and Belarus President underscored shared commitment to peace and stability in their respective regions and the broader global context.

The meeting marks a significant step in enhancing military and diplomatic relations between Belarus and Pakistan, with both sides expressing a desire to explore new avenues for collaboration.

Lukashenko concluded his three-day visit to Pakistan. During the visit, he held discussions with Pakistani leaders, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations across political, economic, and cultural areas.

Fifteen agreements and MOUs were signed, including a roadmap for enhanced cooperation between 2025-2027, aimed at boosting economic ties. A Belarusian business delegation also met with Pakistani business leaders.
