LAHORE – Several Pakistani players suffer blow in Test and ODI Rankings amid murky performances.

In Test format, Pakistan’s vice-captain Saud Shakeel climbs to 8th place with 724 rating points. Former skipper Babar Azam dropped from 17th to 18th, now with 670 rating points.

Vice Captain Salman Ali Agha fell to 20th, while wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan dropped to 21st, signaling a downturn in form.

The recent development comes after India’s strong performance in first Test of their five-match series against Aussies. Yashasvi Jaiswal attains 2nd spot while star player Virat Kohli takes 13th spot.

In bowling, seasoned Pakistani player Noman Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi retained their positions at 9th and 15th. Fast bowler Naseem Shah slipped to 39th, while Sajid Khan remained in 38th place. On the other hand, India’s Jasprit Bumrah regained top spot in the ICC Test Bowling Rankings after a stellar performance in the World Test Championship series against Australia, with match-winning figures of 5/30 and 3/42.

In ODI rankings, Fakhar Zaman dropped out of the top 10, now ranked 14th, while Imam-ul-Haq fell two spots to 17th. Mohammad Rizwan remained steady at 24th. In ODI bowling rankings, Shaheen Afridi lost his top-ranked position to Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, dropping to 2nd place with 682 rating point

Haris Rauf also came down, moving down two spots to 17th while India’s Kuldeep Yadav and South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj have risen to 4th and 3rd, respectively.

The latest rankings reflect a challenging period for Pakistan cricket, as the team faces stiff competition from other nations, particularly India, who continue to dominate both the batting and bowling charts across formats.
