LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 145 illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulter premises during operations in different parts of Lahore on Monday.
LDA Town Planning Wing sealed 37 businesses in Gulberg and Garden Town, 35 in New Muslim Town and Shadman, 28 in Subzazar Housing Scheme, and 45 in UET Housing Scheme for illegal commercial use and not paying commercialization fees.
The sealed premises include Ace Institute, Bio-Tech Services, Al-Barakah Girls High School, flourmill association’s office, Ameer Pharmacy, dental clinics, hospitals, café, bakers, food outlets, grocery stores, beauty parlors, and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali supervised the operations, which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.
As per the LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violation of parking bylaws, illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulters in Lahore.
