LAHORE – A case has been registered against Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, under the Telegraph Act 1885.
The FIR was lodged in Dera Ghazi Khan, alleging that Bushra Bibi made a hateful statement to incite people.
According to the police, legal action is being taken against her under Section 126 of the Telegraph Act and other relevant laws.
In a recent video statement, Bushra Bibi claimed that after Imran Khan visited Madinah barefoot and returned, calls began coming to General Bajwa (former Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa). She said that Bajwa was told, “Who have you brought? We do not want such people,”.
Bushra Bibi further alleged that Bajwa was informed, “We are about to eliminate Sharia in the country, and you have brought such a person. We do not want such people,”.
She claimed that since then, a campaign of defamation began against them, with propaganda targeting her and Imran Khan being labeled as a Jewish agent.
Following her video statement, Imran Khan reportedly instructed Bushra Bibi to stay away from politics after concerns were raised by the PTI leadership.
