PESHAWAR – Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir visited Peshawar today to review the prevailing security situation and the progress of ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the region, the ISPR said.
In a statement, the military’s media wing said Gen Asim Munir was provided with a comprehensive briefing by military and law enforcement officials on the latest developments in the fight against terrorism. Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and field commanders were also present at the briefing.
In his address, COAS paid heartfelt tribute to martyrs and Ghazis. acknowledging their supreme sacrifices in safeguarding the nation. He emphasized that their contributions are the cornerstone of Pakistan’s resilience and the unwavering dedication of the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies.
The top general commended the high morale, operational readiness, and commitment of the troops in effectively countering various security threats. He reiterated the Pakistan Army’s firm resolve to dismantle hostile terrorist networks and eradicate illegal activities that undermine national security.
Highlighting the collective determination of the nation and its security forces, COAS stressed that combating terrorism and neutralizing the plans of adversarial elements remains a top priority.
He assured that through coordinated efforts and robust operations, the Pakistan Army, in close collaboration with Law Enforcement Agencies, will continue to hunt down enemies of peace to ensure lasting stability and security.
