SYDNEY – Strong Australia completed an unprecedented 3-0 series sweep, winning third game by seven wickets on Monday.
Pakistan, after winning toss and chose to bat, were dismissed for just 117 runs in 18.1 overs. Former skipper Babar Azam remains top-scorer for visitors with 41 runs off 28 balls, while Haseebullah Khan contributed 24 runs from 19 balls. Shaheen Shah Afridi’s late cameo of 16 off 12 balls gave Pakistan some brief hope, but the rest of the batting crumbled under pressure.
Adam Zampa (2/11), Aaron Hardie (3/21), and Spencer Johnson (2/24) led Australia’s excellent bowling attack, ensuring Pakistan never gained momentum. Hardie was the standout, taking three key wickets to break the backbone of the Pakistan lineup.
Chasing 118, Australia reached the target comfortably in just 11.2 overs, finishing at 118/3. Marcus Stoinis played a match-winning knock of 61* off 27 balls, while Josh Inglis contributed 27 runs from 24 balls. Jake Fraser-McGurk chipped in with a quick 18 off 11 balls, ensuring Australia cruised to the target with ease.
Despite a spirited effort from Shaheen Afridi (1/43) and Abbas Afridi (1/14), Pakistan’s bowlers couldn’t prevent the Australians from wrapping up the series victory in style.
Australia’s bowlers produced a clinical performance to secure a comfortable victory over Pakistan in the final T20I of the three-match series at Bellerive Oval on Monday, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead.
