Brushing aside rumours of entering into active politics Bushra Bibi, former first lady and wife of incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan, on Saturday declared she had no intentions at all to jump into the political arena and all her efforts were aimed at ensuring well-being of her husband.

“I am not interested in politics. In fact I am speaking out of concern for my husband. All rumours of my entry into politics are baseless and merely a propaganda,” Bushra Bibi said while addressing a gathering at CM House Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where she, however, directed the PTI leadership to participate in the November 24 protest at any cost and make it a success.

The important meeting that was also attended by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Party Chairman Barrister Gohar, Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, and senior leader Hammad Azhar, besides PTI Punjab and Lahore lawmakers and ticket holders, also appointed Ahmad Nasir Chattha

as the party’s Central Punjab president and Bilal Ijaz as general secretary. Addressing the gathering from behind a veil, Bushra Bibi instructed the PTI leadership and lawmakers to participate in the November 24 protest at any cost. She conveyed what she said was a message from Imran Khan, tasking the Lahore and Punjab leadership with mobilizing a large number of workers for the event.

“Imran Khan has sent a message that everyone must reach D-Chowk in Islamabad on November 24,” Bushra Bibi said and reportedly asked that everyone should have a video of reaching D-Chowk bringing maximum number of supporters. Bushra Bibi further clarified that she had no interest in entering politics and was only speaking to the party out of compulsion.“ I have never engaged in politics and do not intend to do so; I am only conveying Imran Khan’s complete directives,” she maintained.
