Honorary Consul of the Kyrgyz Republic, MeherKashifYounis and President of the Kyrgyzstan Trade House (KTH)/Ambassador of the Russian Federation for Science & Education in Pakistan, DrShahidHasan hosted a reception in honour of the newly arrived ambassador of Kyrgyzstan, MrAvazbekAtakhanov at Marriott Hotel and wished him a successful tenure in Islamabad.
The event assumed a special significance as it was also attended by the ‘equally new’ Turkish ambassadors DrIrfanNeziroglu and Ambassador of Uzbekistan AlisherTukhtaev.
They were welcomed not only by the Pakistani friends and hosts but also by the Dean of Diplomatic Corps Ambassador of Turkmenistan AtadjanMovlamov, Kazakhstan Ambassador YerzhanKistafin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation Mr. Albert Khorev, Charge d’affaires of Azerbaijan, TamerlanKhalilov and Honorary Consul General of Ghana Mr Omar Shahid Butt.
The guest list included a diverse group of prominent figures from business community, traders, defence analysts and heads of various think tanks and media persons.
They proposed toast to the Kyrgyz ambassador wishing him good health, happiness, and success during his stay in Islamabad. They also welcomed the Turkish and the Uzbek ambassadors who have also joined their missions recently.
In his welcome speech, DrShahidHasan highlighted a number of projects the KTH has undertaken to promote business-to-business and people-to-people relations between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Pakistan, he said valued relations with Kyrgyzstan and both the countries are exploring new areas of cooperation in trade, tourism, education and energy sectors.
He assured the new ambassadors of Kyrgyzstan, Turkiye and Uzbekistan full support and assistance during their respective stay in Islamabad. Excellencies, I assure you that you will enjoy your stay in Islamabad and ultimately fall in love with this beautiful place, DrShahid reiterated while proposing a toast to the Kyrgyz envoy.
Dean of the Diplomatic Corps also welcomed his new colleagues and wished them successful stay in Islamabad.
Ambassador of the Russian Federation also welcomed the new ambassadors of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkiye to the Diplomatic Crops in Pakistan and wished them a joyous stay in Islamabad.
Kazakhstan ambassador in his toast to the new colleagues, particularly the Kyrgyz ambassador termed the posting in Pakistan quite signification.
DHM of Azerbaijan also wished the Kyrgyz ambassador and the ambassadors of Turkiye and Uzbekistan a fruitful stay in Pakistan.
Among the Pakistani guests who spoke briefly on the occasion and expressed desire for stronger bilateral ties included Dr. Ashraf Nizami, Prof DrZafar Nawaz Jaspal, Ashraf Malkhum, Dr. UsmanGhani, MrSiknadarMirza, Brig (R) Saleem Malik, Mr. RizwanSiddique and others.
Kyrgyz ambassador expressed gratitude to DrShahidHasan, KashifYounis, EngrIftikhar Ali and other Pakistani for a wonderful reception. Kyrgyzstan, he said was a land of opportunities and there existed a huge potential for bilateral partnership in multiple sectors.
