Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab announced that the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) is working to resolve the city’s water and sewerage issues by increasing its revenue, which is being used to replace old and deteriorated water supply and sewerage lines. Barrister Murtaza Wahab revealed that when he took office, the KWSC’s revenue was 1.1 billion rupees. This has now risen to over 1.86 billion rupees, marking a 65 percent increase in monthly revenue. He credited modern reforms, the strategic efforts of KWSC officers, and the hard work of employees for the remarkable increase in revenue, which has grown by a record Rs 760 million in just two years—setting a new benchmark for the corporation’s financial performance. Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab congratulated the officers and staff for their dedication and effort in achieving this milestone.
The mayor explained that this boost in revenue will not only benefit the KWSC and its employees but will also enhance the city’s water and sewerage infrastructure, ensuring timely completion of ongoing projects.
Emphasizing the importance of continued progress, Barrister Wahab assured that efforts to further increase the corporation’s revenue will continue, aiming to transform KWSC into an exemplary organization. Providing better water and sewerage services remains a top priority for the local government.
While acknowledging that critics may persist, he reaffirmed the commitment to improving Karachi’s infrastructure and fulfilling the trust placed in them by the city’s residents.
