The Government of Sindh has announced a comprehensive crackdown on drug dealers across the province, with the Excise and Narcotics Control Wing set to launch a major operation on Wednesday, November 13.

The initial phase of the operation will focus on two major cities, Karachi and Hyderabad, while future phases will expand the efforts to other districts of Sindh. Sharjeel Inam Memon, the Senior Minister of Sindh and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, Mass Transit, Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control, has ordered an intensive operation against drug dealers, marking a significant step in the province’s fight against narcotics.

The Excise and Narcotics Control Wing has already mobilized its teams across Sindh in preparation for the operation. A high-level meeting was held in Karachi under the chairmanship of Sharjeel Inam Memon, with key officials including Muhammad Saleem Rajput, Secretary of Excise, and Aurangzeb Akbar Panhwar, DG of the Narcotics Control Wing, in attendance.

During the meeting, Memon outlined the plan for the operation, which will begin in Karachi and Hyderabad, aiming to eliminate drug peddlers and their networks. “We are targeting harmful substances like crystal meth (ice), heroin, cocaine, and hashish, and we will leave no stone unturned in eradicating them,” said Memon. He emphasized that the operation will eventually extend to other districts in Sindh.

He also confirmed that both the police and Rangers are prepared to assist the Excise and Narcotics Control teams throughout the operation. Memon further highlighted the enhanced responsibilities of the Excise and Narcotics Control Wing with the introduction of the new anti-narcotics law, urging everyone to contribute to the fight against drugs for the sake of future generations.

He expressed confidence that the collective efforts would lead to a drug-free society. “We must strengthen and make the anti-narcotics wing an exemplary force,” he stated. Memon also announced that officers who perform exceptionally in the operation will be rewarded with prizes and honors. He assured the public that he is personally overseeing the progress of the operation, with daily reports on its outcomes.
