In a momentous event marking the opening of the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD) campus in Karachi, Federal Minister for Education and Science & Technology, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, addressed the gathering as the chief guest. The ceremony, held at Mohatta Palace, was a significant occasion for Karachi’s educational landscape, with Dr. Siddiqui emphasizing the city’s crucial role in Pakistan’s future development. Reflecting on Karachi’s history, Dr. Siddiqui said, “Many years ago, the capital was moved from Karachi, and today, we are bringing it back in phases.”
He expressed optimism about Karachi’s readiness to lead in analysis, research, creativity, and cultural development. “Today, Karachi’s youth should feel proud, as more than 12 universities are opening campuses in this city, bringing daily good news to its residents,” he added. Dr. Siddiqui further stressed Karachi’s strategic importance for the nation, asserting, “There should be no doubt that when Karachi thrives, Pakistan thrives.
This is the unparalleled pledge that makes us proud to call ourselves Pakistanis.” He spoke about the historic opportunity provided by the opening of these educational institutions, highlighting that they would empower the next generation to forge new paths toward development. Praising the efforts of all those involved, he noted that the expansion of Karachi’s educational sector would not only benefit Pakistan but also contribute to the progress of the entire Muslim world.
“The goal is not just the development of Pakistan but the advancement of the Muslim Ummah,” Dr. Siddiqui stated. Governor of Sindh, Kamran Khan Tessori, also praised Dr. Siddiqui’s initiatives, acknowledging his unwavering commitment to education.
