LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 137 illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulter premises during operations in different parts of Lahore on Tuesday.
LDA Town Planning Wing sealed 36 businesses in Gulberg and New Garden Town, 30 in Allama Iqbal Town, 51 in Johar Town, and 20 in New Muslim Town and the surroundings of Canal Bank Road.
The sealed premises include Yasir Broast, Ghani Shinwari Dumba Karahi, Canal Campus of Superior College, Kips School and Academy, Stars School and Academy, Stem Academy, The Success College, Diners, Royal Tag, Ultra Club, Monark, private banks, outlets of famous brands, beauty parlous, pharmacies, bakeries, food outlets, grocery shops, private offices and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman supervised the operations, which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.
As per the LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
Meanwhile, the LDA enforcement squad partially demolished three structures in Shadbagh for violations of building bylaws.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violations of bylaws, land grabbers, encroachments, illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulters in Lahore.
