The second day of the Sunni Scholars Convention, organized by Saylani Welfare International Trust and Darul Uloom Memon at Memon Masjid in Bolton Market, saw a call for modernization and technological integration in religious education, with an emphasis on strengthening Muslim think tanks.

Notable scholars such as Maulana Adil Attari, Maulana Abdul Habib Attari, and other respected figures participated in the discussions. Afzal Chamariya, Chairman of Saylani Education Board, called for the establishment of IT labs in Sunni religious schools across the country, stressing the importance of embracing modern tools to enhance educational standards.

He assured that Saylani would provide full support to make this initiative a success. Maulana Abdul Habib Attari underscored the importance of adapting religious education to meet the demands of modern times, drawing inspiration from the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions as models of guidance. He pointed to Dawat-e-Islami’s global reach, emphasizing that passion, dedication, and sincerity, rather than financial resources, are key to achieving success.

He encouraged teachers and students to develop both moral character and IT skills, noting that if students can memorize the Quran, they can excel in technology as well. Maulana Muhammad Adil Attari spoke passionately about the need for the Muslim world to strengthen its think tanks, pointing out the silence of Western think tanks on Israeli aggression in Gaza while continuing to malign Muslims globally. He urged the Muslim world to develop its own think tanks to better address such challenges and reaffirmed the role of institutions like Dawat-e-Islami in furthering this cause.

He also praised Saylani Welfare International Trust for its efforts in organizing the event, calling it an important step toward promoting religious education and strengthening Muslim unity. Saylani’s COO, Muhammad Ghazal, echoed the call for integrating technology into religious curricula, recalling the vision of Saylani’s founder, Maulana Bashir Farooqui, to continuously improve in all endeavors.
