LAHORE – Pakistani actress and model Areej Chaudhry said that she faced criticism on social media for negative roles in the acting.
Areej Chaudhary recently appeared on a private TV morning show, where she discussed various topics, including her experience portraying negative characters in dramas.
The actress said, “I have a very positive personality in real life, and the things I oppose the most in real life are often the same things I portray in negative roles. So, understanding and playing a negative character is very challenging for me,”.
She also gave an example from her recently concluded hit drama, saying, “In the drama, there is a married couple, and I am the one separating them. I used to think, ‘What am I doing?’ It was a huge challenge for me, and I had a very different experience doing it,”.
When asked about the public’s reaction to her, Areej Chaudhry shared as long as people haven’t met her in person, they curse her and wish her bad luck because of the negative roles she played on social media.
“But once they meet me, their perception changes, and they tell me, ‘You don’t look bad at all,” said the actress.
Areej Chaudhry appeared in several popular dramas including Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, Woh Pagal Si, Terk Wafa, Dhai Chaal, and Gentleman.
Areej Chaudhary also represented Pakistan in multiple international beauty pageants.
