LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) retrieved land worth billions after removing huts, illegal constructions, encroachments and evicting cattle in different blocks of Lahore’s Johar Town on Thursday.
So far, LDA has retrieved 140 kanal land in various blocks of Johar Town.
LDA Director Housing VII Moazzam Rasheed supervised the operations which were jointly carried out by the enforcement teams and Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) with the help of heavy machinery and the Police in F, M and N blocks of Johar Town. During the operation, dozens of cattle were also removed from M and N blocks.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq visited the site to oversee MCL and LDA’s anti-encroachment and cattle eviction operations. He was briefed about the ongoing operations and measures to save public land from land grabbers and encroachments.
The DG directed continuing indiscriminate operations against land grabbers, cattle and encroachments in Lahore.
