Sindh Government has officially introduced the Defined Contribution Pension Scheme (DCPS), 2024 for newly appointed civil servants. This scheme, approved by the Provincial Cabinet on September 14, 2024, and incorporated under the Sindh Civil Servants (Amendment) Act 2024, applies to employees appointed on a regular basis from July 1, 2024, onwards. Under this new pension framework, contributions are shared between the employees and the government. Employees will contribute 10 percent of their basic pay, while the Government of Sindh will contribute 12 percent of the basic pay on behalf of the employees.

These contribution rates are provisional and may be adjusted in the future. The Sindh Government will issue detailed guidelines under the Sindh Civil Servants (Defined Contribution Pension Scheme) Rules, 2024 in a separate notification to clarify the scheme’s implementation and regulations.
