Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated the Counter-Terrorism Department’s (CTD) Fusion Center, aimed at enhancing anti-terrorism efforts through advanced technology and data integration. The inauguration ceremony, held in Karachi, was attended by Home Minister Zia ul Hassan Lanjhar, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon, Additional IGP CTD Imran Yaqoob, and other senior officials. During the event, IG Police provided a detailed briefing to the Chief Minister, highlighting the center’s capabilities and its role in strengthening intelligence efforts. Last year, the Chief Minister approved a budget of PKR 772 million for establishing this center, which has now been completed by the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC), a national institution. The center will integrate offline and online databases from all stakeholders, creating a cohesive system for information-sharing and real-time decision-making. Addressing the gathering, CM Murad Ali Shah emphasized the importance of combating extremist groups in the province. He commended the efforts of the police, especially the CTD, in the fight against terrorism. “The government has equipped the CTD with advanced weaponry and technology to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property,” he stated. Expressing pride in the dedicated and well-trained personnel of Sindh Police, the Chief Minister lauded their sacrifices and commitment, calling their role in curbing terrorism “unforgettable.” He also recognized the essential contributions of the Rangers and other law enforcement agencies in restoring peace. Murad Ali Shah added that the Sindh government is committed to further strengthening the police force with modern equipment, better facilities, and extensive training.
