President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Atif Ikram Sheikh, briefed personnel from Pakistan’s Foreign Service (FSP) on key economic challenges, export strategies, and the role of trade diplomacy in strengthening Pakistan’s global market presence. The briefing, held at the FPCCI head office, aimed to equip FSP officials with insights to promote Pakistan’s economic interests on the world stage. During the session, Sheikh emphasized the potential of sectors such as IT and IT-enabled services, value-added agriculture, processed foods, blue economy initiatives, infrastructure, processed minerals, chemicals, and skilled workforce exports.
He called for prioritizing these areas to enhance Pakistan’s trade and investment profile globally. Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, Senior Vice President of FPCCI, urged FSP officers and Pakistan’s trade representatives abroad to embrace a proactive approach, positioning themselves as advocates for Pakistan’s brand in the global marketplace. “Our goal should be diverse and multi-sectoral export promotion, alongside industrialization and import substitution,” he stressed. Magoon also highlighted FPCCI’s Vision 2030 initiative, which targets $100 billion in exports, achievable through coordinated efforts from Pakistan’s foreign offices and participation in international exhibitions.
Magoon also detailed FPCCI’s recent Excellence Awards, recognizing top companies across 20 industries. These awards, presented by the President of Pakistan, spotlight Pakistan’s leading brands for international promotion, supporting the vision of Pakistan as a competitive and recognizable trade partner.
