PTI Karachi spokesperson Fauzia Siddiqui expressed deep gratitude for the release of Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, sisters of Imran Khan, following what she described as an “unjust detention.” She emphasized that the two women have no political involvement but faced imprisonment due to their association with Imran Khan and their dedication to sharing his message with the public. Siddiqui highlighted the challenges Imran Khan’s family has faced for supporting his position. She noted that Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s wife with no political role, also suffered unwarranted scrutiny and humiliation in the Toshakhana and Iddat cases. “These cases should never have been pursued against her, as she held no official position,” Siddiqui stated. Reflecting on the recent treatment of women in Pakistan, Siddiqui said, “In the past two years, the level of disrespect shown towards women is unprecedented in our country’s 76-year history.”
