The National Institute of Management (NIM), Karachi, held a ceremony on Friday to mark the graduation of its 41st Mid-Career Management Course (MCMC), with officials from across Pakistan in attendance.

Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Sindh’s Provincial Minister for School Education and Literacy, College Education, and Mines and Minerals Development, served as the chief guest for the event. The gathering celebrated the accomplishments of 34 civil service officers from all four provinces, representing diverse occupational groups who successfully completed the MCMC. This essential training is mandatory for civil servants in the promotion zone of Grade 19, equipping them with skills for senior management responsibilities. Director General of NIM, Dr. Syed Saif ur Rehman, opened the event with an address that emphasized the core values of civil service.

Dr. Rehman reminded the officers to uphold three critical principles in their careers: dignity, humanity, and the courage to follow their aspirations. “A civil servant must never compromise on dignity, should uphold humanity, and have the courage to follow their heart,” he stated. In his address, Chief Guest Syed Sardar Ali Shah drew upon the region’s ancient cultural heritage of the Indus Valley, encouraging the graduates to honor this legacy by serving their communities with compassion and respect.

“Serve the people, and treat everything around you—whether human, animals, trees, or birds—with respect and kindness,” he urged. The ceremony concluded with certificates awarded to the graduating officers, and Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah received a memento from DG NIM in appreciation of his support and presence.
